Masks & Temperature checks

  • Masks and/or face shields are mandatory for adults when picking up or dropping off their kids
  • Masks for children are welcome & recommended but not mandatory
  • Temperature checks will be conducted for anyone entering the playground

Visitors

  • Non-essential visitors will be restricted at the program or in the building at any point

Parent Drop-Off and Pick-up Procedures

  • Pick-up and drop-off should happen outside the child care setting*
  • Children’s hands will be immediately sanitized and wiped upon entry
  • Parents should not go past the screening area*
  • Procedure in place that supports physical distancing and separate groups drop offs
  • Strollers to be stored outside (5 max)

*Parent/guardian to enter the setting only if absolutely necessary

 

Screening

  • All children attending child care, staff and child care providers, must selfscreen each day before entering the child care setting
  • Daily attendance Records/Logs will be in place for contact tracing purposes
  • Pre-screening when signing up
  • COVID Screening alert on Window
  • Entry will be refused if there is any visible flu like symptoms present

 

Space Set-Up and Physical Distancing

  • Physical distancing of at least 2 metres will be maintained between ‘play stations’
  • More space will be encouraged between children
  • Use visual cues to promote physical distancing
  • Promote Fun play as a group all while physical distancing
  • Incorporating 5 separated child size tables and chairs for each child to have as their own ‘Work Station and Meal/Snack table’

 

Equipment, Toy Usage and Restrictions

  • All toys and equipment are made of materials that can be cleaned and disinfected
  • Toys and equipment will be cleaned and disinfected at a minimum between plays, wiped and disinfected throughout our program
  • Mouthed toys will be cleaned and disinfected immediately after use
  • Frequently touched surfaces will be cleaned and disinfected at least twice a day (i.e. doorknobs, light switches, toilet and faucet handles)

 

Health & Safety

  • Educator or Caregiver will be tested on a monthly basis
  • If a staff member is diagnosed with COVID-19, the staff member must remain off work for 14 days following symptom onset and has received clearance from the local public health unit. Families who came in contact with staff member will be notified to monitor for symptoms.
  • Practise consistent hand washing and hand hygiene
  • Entry will be refused if there is any visible flu like symptoms present•If your child falls ill in the time that they are here, they will be isolated from all other children until parents are available for pick up
  • Frequently touched surfaces will be cleaned and disinfected at least twice a day (i.e. doorknobs, light switches, toilet and faucet handles)

 

Food Provision/ Snack time

  • Proper hand hygiene will be practiced when staff are preparing food and for all individuals before and after eating
  • Each child will have their own table
  • No sharing of snacks
  • Please pack water bottle and “school safe” snacks, NO NUTS or PEANUTS Allowed
